Music and performing arts as a mirror of society have always been a faithful companion of Friederike. Fully aware of the responsibility of being an artist, she strives for more than enchantment, but also for self-reflection in the audience. The special combination of dance, singing and acting has always been perfectly in sync with her energetic and expressive nature. On stage she can unfold, be big and loud and yet still be minimalistic and touching. Above all, her strength in comedy and timing help her to easily connect with the audience and to transport even serious subjects within society convincingly. Her versatility, ranging from operetta and chanson to musical theatre, offers a wide opportunity of repertoire in singing, but also her playfulness in acting allows her to range from clownish elements to slapstick and even tragic characters.
Growing up in a musical family, Friederike started playing the violin and the piano at the age of six. Bach's solo concertos in particular shaped her early career as a violinist. However, when she played the violin in the band of Jesus Christ Superstar at the age of eleven, her enthusiasm for musical theatre was ignited. She studied her craft at the University of the Arts in Berlin and the Fontys Hogeschool voor de Kunsten in Tilburg. Her influences are Kurt Weill and Bertold Brecht, as well as Stephen Sondheim, Michael Kunze and Stephen Schwartz.
